A How to Guide for Influencers

How-to for Influencers

So… you’ve decided to become an Influencer? Great decision. Influencer marketing is on the rise and growing exponentially. According to Adweek, Influencer Marketing, worth only $2 Billion in 2017, is expected to become a $10 billion industry in 2020.

An influencers main role is to subtly persuade people to buy products or services using their authority, position, knowledge or relationship with their audience.

But influencers also have the ability to shape minds, start movements and turn small ideas into multi-million dollar ventures (Behrman PR).

It’s virtually impossible to build a meaningful career these days without also building influence online.

But how do you do that if you’re not born into royalty or a celebrity? How do you do that if you’re virtually unknown?

Ready for a crash course?  Here’s a quick how-to for influencers (or aspiring influencers).

So... you want to become an influencer? Great decision! Influencer Marketing is a hot trend. Here's a quick crash course. #howtoforinfluencers #howtobecomeaninfluencer #influencermarketing1. Get Clear on Who You Are

Find your unique selling proposition. What’s special about you or your company?

  • Is there something you offer that no-one else does?
  • Or something you do better than nobody else does?
  • Or do you have a better solution to a problem many people face?
  • What are you passionate about?
  • What are your skills?

2. Get Clear on Who You Serve

Now consider who would most benefit from your gifts.

Create an avatar of your ideal client, someone you will speak to directly.

Tip: Usually it’s someone very much like you. Someone struggling with the same challenge that you’ve already overcome. Someone who is where you were until you had an epiphany or gained knowledge and experience to become who you are now.

3. Start Offering Value

Now it’s time to figure out and how best you can deliver on your promises.  And to spring into ACTION.

How will you present your solution? What will you create?  Blog posts? Instagram Posts? YouTube Videos? Books? Talks? Courses? Podcasts? Interviews? Masterminds?  Live Events? Music? Movies? Virtual Summits? Membership Sites?

You choose.

The trick here is to give, give, give of yourself and then give some more. People want to see you, they want to know your vision.  People want to follow leaders.

Tip: Sometimes it takes a while to find the platform works best for you.  You might launch yourself on one and then realise your skills are better suited to another. Or your audience hangs out on another platform. It’s okay to figure this all out while you’re building your authority.

4. Brand Yourself

Now it’s time to let your light shine. Brightly.

As your authority grows it becomes easier to pinpoint the exact point where your skills and passions meet.  That special thing you do that you don’t even know you do.  The innate magic that differentiates you from everyone else.

Your clients start telling you how you’ve helped them. Publications start citing your posts in theirs. Companies start approaching you requesting to work with you.

Suddenly you’re in demand. A hot commodity. Your posts start going viral.

This is when you become a brand. An Authority. An Influencer. A Thought Leader.

And now it’s time to let the world know who you are and who you serve. Now it’s time to tell your story.

5. Connect with other Influencers

Once you’re clear on your niche and you’ve started offering your clients or tribe solutions to their problems, you can start looking for other influencers in your niche.

Don’t be ashamed to reach out to them for support and mentorship, even if all this means is subscribing to their email list.

Start considering potential collaborations or joint venture partnerships with like-minded influencers who share your passion and serve the same audience.

One Last Note

Becoming an influencer is an evolutionary process. There’s no such thing as overnight success. Over time you become someone that people admire, that people want to follow. Be patient.  Allow the process to unfold. You’ve got this.

Choosing The Best Video Production Company For Your Project

If you have a business, then there is no argument that you need to have a video strategy. If done correctly, using video can have a massive impact on your business, especially if your video goes viral.

If you are looking for a video production company to assist you with creating an excellent video for your business, here are some of the things you will need to consider before deciding which company you are going to use.

Do you have a video strategy in place for your business? Here's how to get cracking on that. #choosingthebestvideoproductcompany #videostrategy #videomarketing #videomarketingstrategyWhat Is Your Objective?

Before you even start to approach a trusted Brisbane video production company for your project, you will first need to work out what the objective is for your video.

  • Are you going to use it to increase brand exposure?
  • Are you looking to make a funny video go viral?
  • Or, are you simply looking to increase the sales for your business?

Define the objectives of your video and this will give you a basis for everything else.

What Type Of Content?

You will also need to consider what type of content you are looking to create and whether it is going to be a funny video, something that is eye-catching, or whether it is just a promotional video highlighting the services that your company offers.

You may have an idea of the type of video you want to create but it is essential to keep an open mind and listen to the production companies that you contact to get their opinion of your concept.

Searching For Production Companies

A quick search using the internet will show you that there are many companies that offer video production services, so you will need to filter through all the results and put together a list of the top companies.

When you have this list, you will want to look at each of the companies and have a read of the information on their websites, as well as look at any examples of their work that is available.

You will also need to look at the online reputation of each company and try to narrow your list down to just a handful.

Once you have a shorter list, it is time to speak to the companies directly.

Contacting Video Production Companies

There are usually multiple ways that you can contact each of the production companies but one of the best ways is to write a draft email.

  • You will want to list everything that you require and ask as many questions as you can.
  • You can then use this as a draft to contact each company and see how they respond to your enquiry.
  • You can use these responses to narrow down the potential companies even further.
  • When you are left with only two or three, you can then call each company or arrange a visit to discuss your requirements in more detail.

Once you have met all of the companies remaining on your list and gone through the feedback that they have given, you will be in a position to make an informed choice and select the best video production company for your requirements.

Best Software for Small Businesses Online

I’m building an online business, so it goes without saying that I’m using online tools, right?

Here are a few of my favourite online software solutions I use every day and some I aspire to use someday soon.

Software I Use Every Day in my Online Business

A quick list of software I use every day in my online business as well as some software I aim to use in the near future. #bestsoftwareforsmallbusinesses Here are the most important Software Programs I use on a daily basis to build my niche websites.

1. WordPress

I build all my websites using WordPress because they are simply the biggest and the best name in the industry.  As a result, they have a huge variety of Free Themes and Plugins available.  And I don’t have to learn code to build a WordPress site.

Looking for more reasons to use WordPress?  Check out these 28 Reasons Why It’s Perfect for Your Small Business Website on Digital.com.

2. Jaaxy

Another piece of handy software I use every day is a Keyword Research Tool called Jaaxy.   One of the most important aspects of Search Engine Optimisation is accurate Keyword Research.

I explain my Keyword Research process in detail in this post on Inspiring Mompreneurs but I’ll give you a quick summary here.

Very simply, what you’re looking for is a phrase that attracts as many searches online as possible with the least number of competitors for that exact keyword phrase.

Once you’ve chosen a suitable Keyword Phrase for your post, you’ll use it in your headlines, content and meta tags to increase your rankings in the search engines.

3. Canva

I use Canva many times a day to create all the images for my post.  All my featured images are created using the Blog Banner template on Canva. All my Pins are created using their Pinterest Graphic Templates.

I even use Canva to create my own logos and slide presentations.

Here’s an example of one of my presentations.

8 Digital Marketing Trends in 2019 from Lauren Kinghorn

Software Solutions in my Future

Here’s a list of the software I’ve just started using or aim to be making use of soon.

4. Email Marketing Software

I haven’t applied myself to building an email subscriber list yet but this is going to be a big focus for me in the next few months.

I started out using MailChimp for my email Marketing and then discovered they don’t approve Affiliate Marketers and sometimes shut down their accounts. So I shifted to GetResponse but I’m struggling with their design software.  So I’m looking to switch to either AWeber or ConvertKit at the moment.

5. ClickFunnels

I just signed up for ClickFunnels and built my very first Sales Funnel.  I’m not 100% happy with my video yet so I’m going to shoot another one next week.

As soon as it’s completely ready, I’ll add the link to my Sales Funnel on my home page. Watch this space. 🙂  So excited to finally be building Sales Funnels.

6. Chat Bots

I’m also looking at adding Chat Bots to my site and am testing some software at the moment.  Chat Bots are one of my favourite online trends for 2019 and I’d love to take advantage of this technology.

7. Customer Survey Software

As I start developing my email marketing and building my tribe, I’d like to start building customer profiles so the next logical step is to look into sophisticated Customer Survey Software so I can determine my Customer Satisfaction Scores (CSAT).

You’ll find more of the software I use daily, in this post.

I’m very interested to know which software you use in your online business.  Do you use any of these software solutions or have you gone a completely different route?

How to Increase Your Google Ranking for Free

Guest Post by James Oliver, Owner of Evolved Toaster

After reading this post, you will learn how to increase your ranking on Google. Resulting in a steady growth of new visitors to your blog… For FREE.

As you know, getting traffic to your blog is hard — most traffic sources on blogs are either from social media or email lists. Which is good but, it leaves you with a constant battle of producing regular content on social media.

When you stop posting content your visitors will decrease. So what’s the answer?

Free regular traffic through search engine optimisation. And the best way to achieve this is by targeting easy to rank keywords.

Keyword Research

Would you like your posts to rank in the search engines but can't afford the tools? James Oliver of Evolved Toaster has some FREE solutions for you. Check them out. #HowtoIncreaseYourGoogleRankingforFree #KeywordResearch #FreeKeywordTools #SEO What are keywords?

The words/phrases that define what your content is about. They are words that searchers enter into search engines aka “search queries.”

Choosing the right keywords for your website depends on the age of your site, the number of backlinks, and hundreds of other ranking factors.

But to optimise your content you want to include your keywords in the URL, Heading, Description, Title.

The reason keyword research is important is that you can write the best blog post on your topic. But if Google will never pick your content for the first page you spent all that time for minimal results.

Naturally, you will rank for keywords that aren’t in your heading or subheading by producing quality long-form content.

Free keyword planner tools for SEO

No keyword tool is perfect its best to cross reference the tools and get a second opinion on keyword phrases.

I’m going to over three of my favourite free keyword tools that I had the most success with.

  • Keywords everywhere
  • Ubersuggest
  • Keyword Revealer

Keywords everywhere

I’ve had this software a long time I forgot about the tool until doing this post. Keywords everywhere is a Google Chrome extension that automatically tells you the search volume of a keyword, the cost per click (CPC), and the competition.

Great for saving time by checking the critical data needed for SEO.  Also, the tool comes up with a sidebar with related keywords.

Because you can use this tool without ever having to leave Google. It is a must-have for anyone creating content for the internet.

Plus,

You can instantly make CSV files and star the keywords you want to target.

Ubersuggest

The famous marketer Neil Patel owns this tool and offers it for free. Ubersuggest is one of the most helpful keyword explorers around. And you can combine Ubersuggest with keywords everywhere.

Some of the impressive features are keyword ideas, content ideas, and top pages.

The layout is simple and easy to navigate, making it very beginner friendly. Ubersuggest shows content ideas from the top web pages with the keyword and how hard it is to beat them.

Keyword Revealer

I love keyword revealer. It gathers data that I haven’t found in any free and most paid tools.

The only catch is you have three keyword searches and seven evaluations a day for free.

So,

It’s best to use this SEO tool last after you have done the bulk of narrowing down the topic for your blog post.

The reason I like this tool is that every keyword tool isn’t accurate, they miss a critical ranking factor.

Which is,

The main keyword in the URL, Heading, Description, Title.

Which keyword revealer includes as you can see below.

How to Increase Your Google Ranking for Free |

If you find websites in the top ten when the four ranking factors are missing. This is Google finding pages that are relevant and mention the phase somewhere.

Google will put high authority websites in the top spots if they can’t find content that’s relevant. This will fool keyword research software, making the keyword seem hard to rank.

These keywords are straightforward to rank because the content doesn’t hit the basics. When you write your content tick off the four main factors, you will run the first page.

Conclusion

You want to find keywords that have a search volume and are easy to rank. Use keywords everywhere and Ubersuggest to put together a list of topics you would like to write.

Test them in keyword revealer to check if the top 10 web pages on Google have optimised content.

You can also find the average length of the articles so you can make your content around the same length.

Write content targeting the chosen keywords and receive a steady growth in visitors.

I’d like to hear from you:

Did you learn anything new?

Have you tried these tools before?

Do you know better keyword tools that are free?

Digital Marketing Trends to Watch in 2019

#DigitalMarketingTrendsin2019

Digital Marketing is an ever-changing playground and it can be difficult to keep up with the latest global trends.

I’ve been researching trends on multiple platforms (YouTube, Pinterest, Google and LinkedIn) and trends differ depending on who’s sharing the information, however, there are a number of trends that stand out.

This information was presented in Cape Town on the16th May 2019 at the Social Media and Marketing Conference in Cape Town held by Ayihlome Training Projects.  I’ve uploaded the files to Slideshare and I’ll add a video as soon as possible.

In this post, I’ll share 8 of the most prominent Online Marketing Trends today.

  1. Video Marketing
  2. Content Clusters
  3. OmniChannel Marketing
  4. Influencer Marketing
  5. WhatsApp Marketing
  6. Storytelling
  7. Live Chat and Chatbots
  8. Voice Search

As we go through each of them, I’d like you to keep this question in the back of your mind:

Which of these trends do you see as your BIGGEST OPPORTUNITY in 2019?

Digital Marketing Trends Question

1. Video Marketing

Video is seen as a MEGATREND.  There are 3 main reasons you’ll want to get into Video.

1.  Videos are HUGELY Popular right now.  Wouldn’t you rather watch a video than read an article?  That’s exactly what your customers are doing.

2.  Videos can be much more emotive and authentic than written content. They can bring a boring website to life.

3. Google loves video, especially YouTube videos embedding in posts. Videos are great for SEO.

Let’s just talk about YouTube.  YouTube Stats are Crazy!

  • Daily, People are watching 1 BILLION Hours of Video on YouTube.
  • YouTube has nearly 2 Billion monthly active users.
  • 4 x as many People prefer watching Videos on YouTube than any other Social Media Platform.

Find more YouTube Stats at HubSpot

Advertising on YouTube

And, as Facebook Ads are becoming more expensive, it’s becoming more popular (and more effective) to advertise on YouTube.

You have a better chance of your Ad being seen and heard on YouTube. Facebook Ads start with the sound turned off and most people don’t turn it on.

Facebook has recently taken away some of its powerful targeting options. YouTube’s Targeting options are worth looking into. You can even target people who have been researching what you offer on YouTube (remember, Google owns YouTube).

2. Content Marketing

Content Marketing is here to stay.  The more information and inspiration you can provide your clients, the better.

The latest trend in Content Marketing to look out for is Topic Clusters or

Content Clusters

This is a unique method of Content creation that can boost your SEO, ease the flow of traffic through your website and dazzle your customers or clients with answers to all their questions.

The search engines reward sites that cover topics best and your audience will love you for it too.

Step 1:  Find the main problem or pain point you solve.

Step 2: Create a Pillar Post covering the broad topic.

Step 3: Make sure you choose a popular Keyword.

Step 4: Create cluster posts that link to your main post, covering other aspects of the topic.

The search engines reward sites that cover topics best and your audience will love you for it too.

So, if we were to choose this topic: Digital Marketing Trends in 2019, we could create a Content Cluster mapped out pretty much like this one.   I could write a separate post on each trend and link it back to this post. (Actually, I may just do that).

Digital Marketing Trends in 2019
3. OmniChannel Marketing

With the internet becoming more and more crowded, it’s important to employ as many social media platforms as possible in your digital marketing strategy.

Once upon a time, all you needed was a website and/or a Facebook page. Now, it’s getting increasingly difficult to be taken seriously if you’re not on Twitter and Instagram.

And, as mentioned, YouTube is definitely one to consider.

Pinterest is also not to be overlooked as a search engine and a platform that can bring huge traffic to your website.

And the trending channels right now are LINKEDIN and TUMBLR as their growth is faster than any of the other channels.

LinkedIn is known as the best Business to Business Channel and it’s my favourite channel by far.  Because you can connect with a targeted audience.  And because it’s more professional than any of other platforms.

LinkedIn Advertising is virtually a replica of the Facebook Ads dashboards, but cheaper and they have plenty of interesting Advertising options to explore, including Sponsored Posts.

3 Reasons to Advertise on LinkedIn

  1. Targeting is astoundingly accurate and you can target many different characteristics, including skills.
  2. You can start advertising for as little as $2 a day.
  3. Marketers choose LinkedIn over other platforms for Lead Generation.

You’ll find the Complete Guide to LinkedIn Ads on Hootsuite.

And I’ve only mentioned 7 Channels so far: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, LinkedIn and Tumblr.

If you really want to spread your wings and fly, you could start looking into Flipboard, Mix, Snapchat, Quora and Reddit. And there are countless other platforms springing up.

Phew!  Exhausting as it sounds, Omni Channel Marketing is a growing trend and one that cannot be ignored.

Each channel has its own benefits and drawbacks and each platform attracts a unique segment of the market, so it’s worth doing your homework.

Don’t miss Brandwatch’s 123 Amazing Social Media Statistics and Facts.

What Digital Marketing Trends will you take advantage of in 2019? In this post I take a look at 8 prominent trends in 2019. #DigitalMarketingTrendsin2019 4. Influencer Marketing

Influencer Marketing is a growing trend.  We all know the value of word of mouth marketing.  We know that people trust people before they trust businesses.

For years, Brands have employed Brand Ambassadors, compensating famous TV, Film and Sports personalities to advertise their products. In the new world of Online Marketing, Micro Influencers are providing exactly the same service.

I saw this in action last year when I was invited to attend the Happy Event #MommyHero Event.  Happy Event did both.  Elana Afrika-Bredenkamp was their Brand Ambassador and they shared the stories of Mom Bloggers and other Mommy Micro Influencers around the country on their website and Facebook page.

To Thank us for our interviews, we were all treated to a morning of pampering and delicious snacks.  A very clever marketing move as each Mom Blogger blogged about the Event and shared pictures and happy thoughts on their own social media channels as well.  I use my Mommy Hero mug every day and it always fills me with a sense of pride.

So Influencer Marketer is a win-win.  As Brands work with Influencers, their Influence grows. As Influencers work with Brands, their Influence (and Revenue) grows.

5. WhatsApp Marketing

Who knew that WhatsApp Marketing would be on this list?  It came as a surprise to me because WhatsApp Business is the new kid on the block.  It only launched in January 2019 and attracted over 5 Million Businesses in their first year.

The opportunity is huge though, especially in South Africa where virtually everyone and his Grandpa have a cellphone but very few have personal computers. Can’t find updated on Stats on this, sorry.

WhatsApp stats are impressive, to say the least. Here are just a few. You can find more stats at Business of Apps.

  • WhatsApp is the biggest Messenger App in the world, with 1.5 Billion Users in 180 Countries
  • WhatsApp outstrips Facebook Messenger by 200 Million Users.
  • 65 Billion messages are sent every day on WhatsApp.

So if you haven’t joined WhatsApp Business yet, now might be the perfect time to get ahead of this trend.

6. Storytelling

Instant Storytelling is hooge right now.

Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp have all hit 500 Million Active Users, according to Tech Crunch while Snapchat is trailing behind with 190 Million Users.

Brand Storytelling is also a growing trend.

And the simple art of Storytelling is making a comeback in all arenas.  Bloggers who tell stories attract more followers and gain more engagement.

The simplest place is to start if you want to jump on this bandwagon is with your website.

Create a Simple Marketing Message on your website

  • What You Offer
  • How it will help your Customers or what pain point or problem you solve
  • And what they must do to take the next step forward

Distil all information down to the most important parts, what matters most to the Consumer.

And provide stories and testimonials of happy customers who have enjoyed your service and prove that you deliver on your promises. Social Proof is extremely important, both online and offline. (See Influencer Marketing above).

7. Live Chat and Chatbots

I don’t know about you but I love this new trend. When I was looking into buying Divi, my first paid WordPress Theme by Elegant ThemesI learned so much from their Chat Bots or Live Chat Conversations.  I plied them with questions for weeks and they were always responsive, day or night.

And that’s the major benefit of installing a Chat Bot on your website – 24-hour Service.

Of course, you’ll have to program the Bot to answer all your Frequently Asked Questions but imagine the time-saving once you’re all set up. How many times a day do you and your staff answer the same questions from your customers?

I was interested to find that smaller, newer web-based companies, even here in South Africa are also employing this Artificial Intelligence (AI) or Smart Technology.  I was contacted by someone just this week who has started up a Baby Sitting Site and I was incredibly impressed by their website. It’s stunning.  Have a look at We Sit.

The other benefits of Chat Bots and Live Chat are that Responses are Instant, creating a great customer experience. You can even handle complaints quickly and easily using a Chatbot.  Or at least you can start with a Bot and then refer them to a Live Chat or someone who can handle their query within a few hours.

Read more about Chat Bots at DigitalMarketing-Wiki

8. Voice Search

Now, this is an interesting new trend because no-one quite knows what to do with it yet and what impact it’s going to have on SEO.

What we do know is:

20% of all mobile searches are done using voice search and the number is rising every year.

When people ask verbally they usually say a lot more than they would when they type in their search query. So Long Tail Keywords are going to be important.

This is what’s known so far about optimising your website for Voice Search:

Step 1: Switch over to SSL or https.

Step 2: Fill out your Google My Business Profile as completely and accurately as possible and keep it updated.

Step 3: Ask Questions the way people would ask them verbally. (Again, knowing your FAQ’s are important)

Step 4: Use Long Tail Keywords in your posts to ask and answer these questions.

Step 5: Make sure your website uploads as fast as possible.

For more tips, visit this post by Sachs Marketing Group

I also loved Neil Patel’s quick video on Voice Search:

There are many more Trends I could have mentioned in this post. Here are a few of them:

  • Podcasting
  • Artificial Intelligence (Chat Bots fall into this category)
  • Marketing Automation
  • Email Automation
  • Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO)
  • Community Marketing
  • NeuroMarketing

So… now that we’re done, let’s get back to the question I posed at the beginning of this post.

Which of these trends do you see as your BIGGEST OPPORTUNITY in 2019?

I welcome your comments below.

Can You Really Make Money on Wealthy Affiliate? YES. Here’s Proof.

So let’s see… maybe you’re where I was a couple of years ago. Maybe you’re surfing the net looking for ways to make money online. And you’ve stumbled upon a few Wealthy Affiliate reviews like I did.

You think it sounds like a good idea, but you’re just not sure yet because no-one seems to be answering the burning question…

Can You Really Make Money on Wealthy Affiliate?

So I’m going to answer this question for you right upfront.

The answer is YES.

YES, You Can Make Money on Wealthy Affiliate

How can I be so sure?

Because I’ve made money on Wealthy Affiliate.  As have many other Members.

You can have a look at my first two income reports if you need proof.

Income Report 1

Income Report 2

Now don’t laugh. I know $500 or $600 a month isn’t fortunes.

And I know it wasn’t the fastest business growth I’ve ever experienced as an Entrepreneur.  I hit my highest month as a Digital Entrepreneur when I made over $1000 in January 2021.

But bear with me here.

YES! You really Can Make Money on Wealthy Affiliate. I have Proof. Read on. #WealthyAffiliate #AffiliateMarketing #AffiliateReview Wealthy Affiliate is Not a Get-Rich-Quick Scheme

So if you’re looking to make a fast buck, I wouldn’t recommend you go the Wealthy Affiliate route.

Having said that, I’ve only found a few ethical ways to make fast bucks online but they weren’t dependable ways. They weren’t sustainable, long-term, pay-the-bills-monthly kind of ways.

They were 5 Bucks here, 20 Bucks there… I made 50 Bucks once doing Website Testing for Userlytics (as described in my first Income Report). And that was easy money. I thought I was in the money!  I was so excited!

Only to find it was a once-off.  I’ve never made another 50 Bucks with them again.  I’ve only done one other Test for them and it was months later and they only paid me $25 this time.  This is still great considering how little time it took me, but like I said, not sustainable. I can’t live on $25 or even $50 a year.

And then there are a lot of Online Scams offering Quick, Easy Money but when I’ve looked into those I’m never prepared to do what they require me to do because well, it just seems sleazy.  You know, those companies that tell you to go make purchases and then cancel them a few days later.  I just can’t do that kind of thing.  It doesn’t seem ethical to me.

Affiliate Disclaimer: I get commissions for purchases made through links in this post.

So How Do You Make Money on Wealthy Affiliate?

The simple answer is you make money on Wealthy Affiliate by learning how to create your own website(s) and then monetizing them.

To answer that question properly, I’ll ask and answer another one first.

What is Wealthy Affiliate?

Wealthy Affiliate is an Online University that teaches you how to build your own website or websites and monetize them.  Wealthy Affiliate is set up by these two guys, Kyle and Carson:

Wealthy Affiliate Founders Kyle and Carson

Their Step-by-Step Success Formula looks like this:

Wealthy Affiliate Formula

And you’ll learn how to do this in their very first Online Certification Training, which, by the way, is available Free to Starter Members.

You can Sign Up Free Here

Let’s Talk About Timing

I found Step 1, Choosing an Interest the easiest part. I already knew what I wanted to blog about.  If you have an existing business or passion you’d like to write about, this should be quick and easy for you too.

Step 2, Building a Website, was relatively quick and easy for me too. Kyle shows exactly how to do this in the first Online Certification Course. you set up the framework of your website in his training and even create your first couple of pages: Your About Me Page and Privacy Policy Page and write your first post.

Step 3, Attracting Visitors, is the Step that usually takes the longest time (unless of course, you’re already someone famous, with a huge social following clamouring to hear your every word), it’s going to take some time to write enough rich content to build a loyal following, i.e. Traffic to your site.

Kyle teaches you how to access organic traffic, which simply means visitors finding your site when they are searching for something on Google, Bing or Yahoo (or any of the Search Engines).  This is where Keyword Research comes inMore about that later.

Step 4, Earning Revenue.

Kyle compares the Two Main Ways to Make Money with Your Website, namely:

  1. Advertising
  2. Affiliate Marketing

And teaches you how to set these up.

Although Affiliate Marketing is the main way Kyle recommends earning revenue from a website, there are also tons of other ways to earn money that you will learn along the way (and I’ll touch on some of these later).

What Exactly Do You Learn about Monetizing a Site?

Oh so, so much.

And more… so much more.  Wealthy Affiliate doesn’t just teach you how to make money, it also offers you ways to make money.  Here are 3 more ways you can make money on Wealthy Affiliate.

Further Ways to Make Money on Wealthy Affiliate

Wealthy Affiliate also offers a few others way to earn as well, namely:

  1. They have their own Affiliate Program where you can excellent commission either monthly or annually.
  2. They also own Jaaxy and Jaaxy also has an Affiliate Program where you can earn excellent commission.
  3. Through their Open Education Project, you can earn money by creating popular tutorials.

1. Wealthy Affiliate’s Affiliate Program

On top of teaching how to succeed with well-known Affiliate Programs such as Amazon, Clickbank etc, Wealthy Affiliate also has its very own lucrative Affiliate Program.

Know nothing about Affiliate Marketing? Don’t worry, Wealthy Affiliate has got you covered. Kyle teaches you how to make money step-by-step in Affiliate Bootcamp.

Even Starter Members (Members who sign up free) are able to take the first Phase of Affiliate Bootcamp and are entitled to the following commission.

  • Starter Members earn $ 4 for the first month when one of their Referrals goes Premium ($ 19)
  • Starter Members earn $ 11.75 every month thereafter for their Premium Referrals ($ 49)
  • Starter Members earn $ 117.50 a year when one of their Referrals opts to go Yearly ($ 495)
  • Starter Members earn $ 23.25 a month for monthly Premium Plus referrals ($ 99)
  • Starter Members earn $ 232.50 a year for yearly Premium Plus referrals ($ 995)

Premium Members earn double what Starter Members earn:

  • Premium Members earn $ 1 for every new referral who joins and completes their profile
  • Premium Members earn $ 8 for the first month when one of their Referrals goes Premium ($ 19)
  • Premium Members earn $ 23.50 every month thereafter for their Premium Referrals ($ 49)
  • Premium Members earn $ 235 per year when one of their Referrals opts to go Yearly ($ 495)
  • Premium Members earn $ 46.50 a month for monthly Premium Plus referrals ($ 99)
  • Premium Members earn $ 465 a year for yearly Premium Plus referrals ($ 995)

I created the little spreadsheet below to illustrate these figures:

So essentially, if you are very risk-averse or have no money to put down at all, you could:

  • Join as a Free Starter Member
  • Complete the First Online Certification Course
  • Complete the first Phase of Affiliate Bootcamp
  • Build a Free Website (you get a free Siterubix website on Starter Membership)
  • And EARN the Commission to pay for your first month or two at Wealthy Affiliate

This works especially well if you market offline as well as online (i.e. if you have friends who are keen to build their own websites too and jump in with you).

Think how excited you’ll be when your first website is up… and remember Enthusiasm sells.  If you show your website to someone you know has been considering setting up their own website, they may just buy in.

2. Jaaxy

Jaaxy is a brilliant Keyword, Niche Research and SiteRank Tool.  Read more about Jaaxy here.

I use Jaaxy for every single post I publish, whether it’s a guest post, contributed post or my own.

Jaaxy is a tool many bloggers use even if they are not members of Wealthy Affiliate and therefore it has a stand-alone website as well.

The awesome thing is, there is a Free Version of Jaaxy for Wealthy Affiliate Premium Members, Jaaxy Lite, which is perfect when you’re just starting out.  There are two elite versions of Jaaxy. Jaaxy Pro and Jaaxy Enterprise.

More good news is that Jaaxy these are available at Half-Price for Premium Members and Jaaxy Enterprise is free to Premium Plus Members of Weathy Affiliate.

3. The Open Education Project

Once you’ve been a Member of WA for 3 months you can start sharing your own knowledge by adding your own Tutorials or Video Training.

You can earn ongoing income this way.  Wealthy Affiliate pays you based on how many people have read or watched your entire training, liked it, commented on it and how responsive to are you to comments and questions.

Bottom line:  The more popular your Training is, the more is you earn.

This is how Wealthy Affiliate has landed up with an incredible bank of Training, other than the official courses. I even have a few Tutorials of my own (been a bit slack, I know).

My most popular tutorial by far is this one: How to Earn Money from Blogs (before you have significant traffic)
