I recently completed a stunning 21-Day Money Mindset Reset by Elise McDowell of House of Brazen.

In this post, I’ll share some of my favourite takeaways from the course as well as a little twist on Money Affirmations, a lesser-known form of Affirmations taught in Noah St. John’s Secret Code of Success.

How to Clear Money Blocks Using Affirmations

There was an exercise in the 21-Day Money Mindset Reset on creating powerful Money Affirmations which I found really useful.  However, I’ve added my twist – based on what I’ve learned about Afformations from The Secret Code of Success.

What I’ve done in this post, slideshow and video, is to take the Money Affirmations you’ll find in this post and converted them into Money Afformations.

What are Afformations?

Afformations are very similar to Affirmations except that they are questions rather than statements.

Why I like using Afformations is because I know that the minute you ask a question, your brain starts searching for the answer.  So as you fire these questions out, the answers start coming to you.  The invisible starts becoming visible, showing up in your physical world as your thoughts become reality.

Personally, I like to use both: Affirmations and Afformations.

How to Clear Money Blocks Using EFT (Tapping)

Elise McDowell also included a fabulous EFT session in her 21-Day Money Mindset Reset.

What is EFT?

EFT is the abbreviation for Emotional Freedom Technique and most people refer to it as Tapping.

It’s the best technique I know to release any unwanted or negative emotions or shift limiting beliefs – fast.

What you do is tap on pressure points while you talk through the thoughts, feelings and beliefs that are coming up for you and especially those that you feel are holding you back or robbing you of your joy and peace.

How Does EFT Work?

The way I understand EFT from my Shiatsu training, is that each pressure point relates to an organ in the body and each organ in the body stores a different kind of thought, belief or emotion.

So when you tap on the pressure points, the body can release the emotions that are stored in the organs.

I’ve been using EFT for years but I haven’t thought of using it for this purpose (to clear money blocks), so I’ve really been having fun with it lately.

What’s a Money Blueprint and Can You Change Yours?

I can’t afford that. I can’t do that. I don’t have time.

Do you think I’m made of money?

Do you think money grows on trees?

Sound familiar?

If you grew up middle-class, as I did, this is probably what you heard your parents saying.

And you might have caught yourself saying these kinds of phrases to your kids too.

On the other hand, if you were born into wealth, you may have a very different money blueprint and firmly believe there’s an infinite supply.

How to Clear Money Blocks using Afformations and EFT

So What’s a Money Blueprint?

Your money blueprint is every thought or belief about money that was passed down to you by your parents and your parent’s parents or by the community you grew up in.

It seeps into your unconscious programming during your formative years as you observe and tune into your lifestyle, home surroundings and your family traditions.

By the time you’re seven years old, your beliefs are pretty much carved in stone.

Dr Bruce Lipton, the author of the Amazon Bestseller, The Biology of Belief (Get it now on Amazon), explains that this is because our brain waves are in theta from the ages of 0–7 years, almost like a state of hypnosis.

That’s why young children seem to absorb everything like a sponge.

How does this affect your money blueprint?

  • If you were brought up poor, you’re likely to remain poor.
  • If you grew up in a middle-class household, you’ll have a middle-class money blueprint as an adult.
  • And if you were fortunate enough to grow up wealthy, you’re all set to be wealthy. And this happens unconsciously.

Yet how is it then that some people go from rags to riches? What about self-made millionaires?

Or from riches to rags? What about those trust fund kids who gamble away the family fortune?

Can You Change Your Money Blueprint?

YES.

According to Dr Bruce Lipton, there are two ways.

  1. Hypnosis — go back into a theta state to reprogram your unconscious mind
  2. Repetition — repeated statements and behaviours become patterns and become habits

This is why Affirmations work.

Start and end your day with statements like these:

Money Mindset Affirmations

  • I enjoy making money.
  • Making money is fun.
  • The more money I make, the more people I can help.
  • The wealthier I am, the more I have to give.
  • I use my money to better the lives of myself, my family and others.
  • I choose to live a rich, full life.
  • I am a money magnet.
  • Money flows freely to me.
  • I am wealthy.
  • Money comes to me in expected and unexpected ways.
  • There is always more than enough money in my life.
  • I deserve to be paid for the gifts I offer to the world.
  • The more money I earn, the more I can upskill.

Once you’ve repeated positive affirmations often enough, there’s a shift in your subconscious mind and the new belief becomes part of you.

Using Questions to Develop a Millionaire Mindset

And there’s another powerful to change your unconscious programming — I believe an even more powerful way.

It’s by asking the right questions. Don’t miss my post on Affirmations vs Afformations.

Robert Kiyosaki, Author of the bestselling book, Rich Dad, Poor Dad (Get it now on Amazon), says,

So, instead of stating,

Now, I am sure you must be wondering what is the actual ‘desired outcome’ of this article – taah daah!! Drum roll – I wrote an eBook!

Yes, I have been working on it for years and now I realize that the ‘strive for perfection’ can also be a ‘stumbling block’ to in-action, not to mention procrastination.

You see, we all strive to be ‘perfect’ – and there is nothing wrong with that. What is a ‘Debbie- downer’ for most of us is the fact that we ‘yearn too much for perfection’, put it on a pedestal and then become inhibited because it ‘might not be good enough’.

So today, I put my ‘striving’ aside and took action – I finished the eBook. It might not be perfect, but it is done and published.

NO longer did I ‘hold myself ransom to perfection’ while I could live my life in imperfection and a sense of accomplishment.

Do you ever just sit and have a little daydream and think about the most random things in the world. We know you do, because we all do it from time to time. And then you snap out of the little thought that you’re in and you wonder how your mind can come up with such crazy thoughts. 

But then there are the scary thoughts that cross our minds, that are influenced by the situations around us. And there are advantages for our minds to be thinking this way and especially to ponder over what we would do in that situation. Because one of the biggest mistakes that people make in life is thinking that serious things aren’t going to happen to them.

Even when you feel like life is nice and easy breezy, something so totally out of the blue can happen and it can seriously take over your life.

Thinking about these things, and mentally preparing for it is so important. So we’re going to run you through some of the scariest thoughts that we have and what you could do if they become a reality.

Having ill health is not something you should wish upon anybody, because when health seriously starts to go downhill, a whole life can be ruined. But there are some health issues that will cross our minds more than others, such as the cancer scare.

Cancer is everywhere these days, and the fortunate thing is they are taking strides to treat and cure it. And that’s not the only drug being used, there’s so much more to it than that.

Money issues are something that will definitely cross all of our minds from time to time because half of the time we’re heading to hot waters. Maxing out a credit card, using buy-now-pay-later sites, they’re all money draining traps that are too hard to get out of.

So whenever you think about spending when you can’t spend, or if your money is getting a bit out of control at the moment, then think about what financial state you want to be in, and let that motivate you.  Or if you know things are getting a little out of hand, speaking to a financial advisor is something we would definitely recommend.

Being Involved In A Crazy Accident

Something to definitely be aware of, because every single time you step out of your door, something could happen to you. But we think it’s so important to be aware of this risk factor, simply because it keeps you more vigilant, and more aware of your surroundings. If you’re someone who goes around with their head in the clouds all of the time, you’re only increasing your chances of something happening.

Let’s face it, there are few things better than being able to spend your time literally saving people’s lives. Of course, a lot of people assume that to work in medicine then you’ve got to spend decades studying. And sure, if you want to become a doctor that is definitely true.

However, there are plenty of roles in medicine outside of being a doctor that is just as important. From nurses to care workers to hospital administrators. After all, doctors couldn’t do the things they do on their own.

Nonprofit

It can sometimes feel as though there are so many issues all over the world that it’s impossible to know where to even start. It’s fortunate then that there are so many organisations all over the world that are dedicated to doing just that.

Not only are a lot of nonprofit organisations out there looking for volunteers but many of them need people to come on board full time. There are few better feelings than being able to say you earn your crust by making the world just a little bit better.

Of course, these are just a few examples.

The reality is that there are plenty of ways that you can earn a living while also being able to both find something that you really enjoy as well as giving something back to the world around you.

Regardless of what your particular area of fascination is, reading has the ability to transport us away from the preoccupations and worries of ordinary life and to carry us off to an eternal world of images and concepts – whether those take the form of mathematical formulae, or the metaphors and wordplay of William Shakespeare.

Distracting yourself from your concerns and preoccupations – even if only for a brief time – can have a tremendously positive effect on your overall sense of wellness. It can calm the mind and reduce stress, and as we know stress is not just a matter of “feeling uncomfortable”, but can have tremendously negative consequences for health when it’s allowed to become chronic.

Reading is a great and productive form of distraction which you can turn to no matter where you are.

2. Quit the caffeine and alcohol

This tip is often difficult for people to stomach (excuse the pun), for the obvious reason that caffeine and alcohol are so incredibly rife and common in the world. The vast majority of adults in the Western world consume both alcohol and caffeine, and many consume them on a daily basis.

But caffeine is a drug known to directly boost the production of the body’s stress hormones, and to tire out the various receptors and organs associated with those, and other, hormones.

That daily cup of coffee may be contributing quite dramatically to your chronic sense of stress and anxiety.

Likewise, alcohol causes damage to the brain and other organs of the body, and there is evidence that even in small amounts, it may make people less healthy, less resilient, and less capable of facing the world head-on. A bitter irony, considering people so often get drunk to drown out their stress and anxiety.

By quitting these two substances and shouldering through the few weeks or months of irritability and withdrawal (yes, really, they are actually drugs) you may find your stress vastly diminished.

3. Be sure to fuel yourself properly

A large number of people are constantly fighting to attain the perfect physique. Bellies are never flat enough, biceps never toned enough, and so on, and so on.

One of the side-effects of this obsession is that many people live in a state of chronic yo-yo dieting and caloric deprivation.

The bottom line is that when you don’t eat enough food, your body doesn’t work properly, you are less resilient, less healthy, and your stress hormone level are through the roof.

Make sure to fuel yourself properly. Eat whole, nourishing foods, comprising carbs, protein and fats. Yes, low carb diets may also boost stress hormones.

4. Get away somewhere scenic every once in a while

If your home environment becomes too stressful, you need to take steps to address the causes of that stress, and make it more bearable.

If your home is not excessively stressful, but you’re just chronically stressed anyway, getting away and visiting somewhere scenic once in a while can really help to alleviate the bad feelings.

Go somewhere where you don’t have to worry about work. Somewhere you can be inspired by the beauty of nature, and just relax for a while.
